“Josephine dares to confront the life-shattering intersection of sex and violence in our culture, facing the toughest of ‘adult situations’ with clear eyes.”—Peter Debruge, Variety

Based on writer/director/producer Beth de Araújo's own lived experiences, the film Josephine follows the psychological fallout after eight-year-old Josephine (Mason Reeves) witnesses a sexual assault in Golden Gate Park.

As Josephine is called to serve as a witness for the assault, she acts out requiring her parents (Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan) to struggle with helping their daughter cope, while facing their own fears around the topic and how to address it with their child. Winner of the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize. 2026, U.S., DCP, 121 minutes. Rated R.
