After Hours at the Speed

March 18 at 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

All visitors age 12 or older must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test from within 72 hours to attend an event or program at the Speed, including Speed Cinema Screenings. Proof of vaccination is not currently required for general admission to the Museum or its exhibitions. CLICK HERE for details.

6 — 6:30 pm | Gallery talk exploring Pictures from Pieces – Quilts from the Eleanor Bingham Miller Collection with curator Scott Erbes in Gallery 2

7 — 8 pm | Keynote presentation from artist Sanford Biggers on Codeswitch in the Grand Hall

7:30 — 8 pm | Lipstick Wars Poetry Slam performances from Jasmine Gibson, Dasia Woods, Jocelyn Camille and founder Rheonna Nicole in Gallery 3

8 — 8:15 pm | Free Speed Cinema screening of Quilt Fever, exploring Paducah, KY’s annual “Academy Awards of quilting.”

8 — 8:30 pm | Gallery talk exploring Pictures from Pieces – Quilts from the Eleanor Bingham Miller Collection with curator Scott Erbes in Gallery 2

8:30 — 9 pm | Meet the Artist: Sanford Biggers will be in Codeswitch to chat with guests and provide insights on his work

8:30 — 10 pm: Music from jazz, R&B/soul group Kiana & the Sun Kings in the Atrium

8:45 — 9 pm | Free Speed Cinema screening of Quilt Fever, exploring Paducah, KY’s annual “Academy Awards of quilting.”

Every third Friday, the Museum will once again be open until 10 pm. Each After Hours event comes alive with an eclectic mix of music, performances, cash bar + food available by Wiltshire at the Speed, and of course art! Come experience the Speed after hours like you’ve never experienced it before. More details coming soon!
