Stay up late and celebrate the opening our latest exhibition, Tales from the Turf: The Kentucky Horse, 1825 – 1950, with us at the Speed! On the third Friday of each month, the Museum will be open until 10 pm. Each After Hours event comes alive with an eclectic mix of music, performances, cash bar + food available by Wiltshire at the Speed, and of course art! Come experience the Speed after hours like you’ve never experienced it before.

5:45 and 7:30 pm: Two performances of Jockey Jim presented by Larry Muhammad and the Kentucky Black Repertory Theatre. Grand Hall
6 —7 pm: Handicapping 101: Learn how to pick winners at the racetrack from industry insiders Jim Mulvihill and Ed DeRosa of Churchill Downs. This seminar for novices will cover how to read the program, different types of wagers, and the steps that can help you find long-term success. Video of recent races will be shown to illustrate key concepts and guests can place “mythical” bets to win prizes from Churchill Downs and TwinSpires.com. Grand Hall

7:30 pm: “Tack Room Talk” with Louisville Story Program, featuring readings from their new book, Better Lucky Than Good. 3rd Floor North
8:30 pm: Free cinema screening of Blue Grass of Kentucky (1950), the story of Blue Grass, a young Kentucky colt born and bred to become a Derby winner, and the people who’s lives revolved around him.
