August Adult Workshop: Possibilities with Plaster with William M Duffy!

In honor of our current exhibition Louisville’s Black Avant-Garde: William M. Duffy, join us in this unique workshop experience to learn from the artist firsthand! In this two-part workshop, we invite participants to explore the possibilities of sculpting with plaster using both additive and subtractive methods. Part one will focus on mixing and modeling plaster using burlap and Styrofoam, with a brief introduction to modeling and carving. Part two will focus on carving and sculpting more in depth using a variety of tools and techniques. Participants are encouraged to sign up for both workshops, but one is not necessary to participate in the other. Disclaimer: this workshop will get messy! Please come dressed accordingly, aprons, shoe covers, and protective gear will be provided.
