Set in 1799, Sleepy Hollow is based on Washington Irving’s classic American tale The Legend of Sleep Hollow. Faithful to the dream custom-bound world that Irving paints in his story, the film mixes horror, fantasy, and romance and features an extraordinary cast of characters who dabble in the supernatural.
In the film Ichabod Crane (played by Johnny Depp) is sent to Sleepy Hollow in investigate the decapitations of three people, with the culprit being the legendary apparition, The Headless Horseman. 1999, U.S., DCP, 105 minutes. Rated R.
