Art Park

Our love of art keeps growing.

The Speed Outdoors, slated to open in 2025, will provide a vibrant green space outside the Speed Art Museum and create new opportunities for the city of Louisville to connect through art and nature.

Explore

The beautiful art park fills the longstanding need for public green space in one of the city’s most diverse neighborhoods. Designed in partnership with arborists and native plant experts, the art park will benefit the local ecosystem through pollinator-friendly native fauna, a revitalized shade canopy composed of native trees, and advanced water management systems.

Imagine

Any and all are invited to stretch their imagination with free and open access to a growing collection of outdoor sculptures by some of the world’s leading artists – including Zaha Hadid, Sol LeWitt, Kulapat Yantrasast, and Deborah Butterfield – and creative programming with unhindered accessibility outside the physical museum walls.

Relax

Whether it be from the tranquil shade of a native canopy or from one of the many benches within, there are plenty of spaces to relax inside the park. Visitors can also enjoy hobbies and engage in new experiences with public programming including concerts, yoga classes, meditation, and outdoor learning activities to support personal wellbeing.
