From November 2024 through March 2025, the Speed Art Museum proudly welcomed Demi Gardner as the Community Connections Artist in Residence.

As a filmmaker and arts educator, Demi used storytelling as a tool to inspire dialogue, amplify local voices, and explore themes rooted in identity, belonging, and justice. Her work with the Platinum Collective and the Shawnee Library exemplified the transformative power of film to connect people across generations and experiences.
