I-65 Closure Information

Getting to the Speed during I-65 construction closures 

We’re excited to welcome you to the Speed Art Museum at 2301 South Third Street, Louisville, Kentucky. Due to construction on the I-65 Central Corridor project, some highway ramps near downtown will be temporarily closed.  

Tips: The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is a partner with the travel app Waze, a free GPS navigation tool for iOS and Android, that provides real-time traffic updates and traffic-optimized routes. Detour information and fact sheets (in both English and Spanish), as well as maps and traffic alerts are available on the KYTC’s I-65 Central Corridor project website.   

Effective May 4 through May 31   

St. Catherine off-ramp & 1st Street on-ramp to southbound I-65 are closed.

Effective June 1 through July 31   

Five miles of Interstate 65 is closing between the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) from June 1 through July 31. Do NOT use I-65 between I-264 and downtown. All traffic is being rerouted to I-264 (Watterson Expressway) on the west side of Louisville.
