SUMMARY:June Adult Workshop - Mosaic Relief Painting
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\nMosaic Relief Painting\nFacilitated by Liz Richter \nParticipants will explore the concept of tactile art with Liz Richter\, who recently led an artist’s team in creating a large\, multi-sensory ceramic installation in the Clifton neighborhood. Liz will discuss her work with students at the Kentucky School for the Blind and lead participants in creating mosaic relief wall hangings using found objects and recycled materials. \nBio: Liz Richter is an artist\, illustrator and educator living and working in Louisville\, KY. She unites exuberant color and illustrative forms with symbolism and storytelling.  Richter’s public art grew from combining her self-taught painting and drawing practice with her experience as an educator to tell stories that connect people and uplift communities.

SUMMARY:Trainspotting at Speed Cinema
DESCRIPTION:Trainspotting\nDirected by Danny Boyle \nSaturday\, June 6\, 3 pm | BUY TICKETS \n$12 | $8 Speed members \nFunny\, disturbing\, tragic and deeply addictive\, Trainspotting is based on the seminal best-selling novel of the same name by Irvine Welsh. Set in gritty\, late 1980s Edinburgh\, Scotland\, it’s the story of a smart\, funny\, sickly heroin addict Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) and his so-called friends-a gaggle of loser\, liars\, psychos\, thieves and junkies. \nHilarious and harrowing\, the film charts the disintegration of their friendship as they proceed\, seemingly inevitably\, towards self-destruction. Mark alone has the insight and opportunity to escape his fate\, and we’re left to wonder if he will. 1993\, U.K.\, 4K DCP\, 93 minutes. Rated R.
