June’s Virtual After Hours activities include:

  • Enjoy a ready-to-wear fashion design showcase featuring looks inspired by Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art from Paper from Project Runway’s Frankie Lewis, Edward Taylor, and Pascalle Ballard. Hear from the designers about their interpretation of Isabelle’s paper couture and from exhibition curator Erika Holmquist-Wall on the history of their chosen inspiration pieces. Co-presented with the Voice-Tribune. Read more about the challenge and what you can expect to see from these fashion designers in the June 2021 issue of The Voice-Tribune, in print or online here.
  • A special performance from Louisville Orchestra Music Director Teddy Abrams of songs featured in the Ballets Russes, performed in Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art from Paper!
  • In honor of PRIDE month, Curator of Film Dean Otto will give a first look at three upcoming LGBTQ+ films debuting at the newly reopened Speed Cinema. Learn more about what’s screening and purchase tickets online here!
  • In 2020, the Speed commissioned artist Isabelle de Borchgrave to re-create this luxurious dress of Madame Adélaïde of France—from paper—to accompany her famed portrait in the Museum’s permanent collection. Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art From Paper exhibition curator Erika Holmquist-Wall along with special guest, renowned artist Gaela Erwin, explore the details behind this exciting commission.
