Teacher Professional Development Workshop: Life and Death (and Life)
This workshop explores art that deals with death, immortality, and how the things we leave behind have a life of their own. A surprisingly upbeat examination of ways to inspire students (and teachers!) to find their unique voice. Includes a tour of Loose Nuts: Bert Hurley’s West End Story.
Our professional development workshops are designed to provide K-12 teachers with resources and ideas that are original, easy to use, and in support of Core Learning Standards. These highly interactive sessions provide varied experiences, from large group discussions to individual explorations, to keep everyone engaged. Join us to explore how the Speed’s collection and special exhibitions can help your students discover connections between artworks and the world in which we live.
Teacher Testimonial: “Looking at different ways to create cross-curricular content through your activities challenged me to think in new ways about familiar content.”
Teachers must register in advance and there is a workshop fee of $15 per person. Teachers will earn three CPE credits for attending one workshop.
