Stay up late with us at the Speed! Every third Friday, the Museum will be open until 10 pm. Each After Hours event comes alive with an eclectic mix of music, performances, cash bar + food available by Wiltshire at the Speed, and of course art! Come experience the Speed after hours like you’ve never experienced it before.

March’s exciting events include: 

5 – 7 pm: Make your own prints in this art-making activity for all ages! Education Court

5 – 10 pm: Check out some amazing community partners! Louisville Free Public Library Pop-Up, voter registration table, Frazier History Museum pop-up, Commission on the Status of Women table, and a UofL Women’s Center table Atrium

5 – 10 pm: Museum Store Spring Sale! Take a piece of the Speed home with you. Museum Store 

5:30 – 6:00 pm: Welcome remarks with UofL President Bendapudi and Provost Boehm Grand Hall

6 – 6:45 pm: Tour of Loose Nuts: Bert Hurley’s West End Story with curator Kim Spence Loft Gallery

6 – 8:15 pm: Screening of Portrait of a Lady on Fire at Speed Cinema (tickets sold separately)

6 – 7 pm: The Cost of a Vote panel with University of Louisville Grand Hall 

7 – 9:30 pm: Interactive theatrical performances from the UofL Department of Theatre Arts inspired by Loose Nuts: Bert Hurley’s West End StoryLoft Gallery /1927 Building

7 – 7:30 pm: Spoken word performance from local poet and activist Hannah Drake Grand Hall 

7:30 – 8:30 pm: Interpretive readings from Bert Hurley’s Loose Nuts: A Rhapsody in BrownLoft Gallery

7:30 – 8:15 pm: Celebrate Women’s History Month with a tour of #WomenArtists found in the permanent collection Meet in Gallery 3

8:30 – 10 pm: Readings from Cradled by Skeletons with author Marta Miranda, followed by a book signing Cinema
