“Every shot seems designed to delight the audience.”—Pauline Kael, The New Yorker

Screened in 35mm, the slick, stylish, and sexy French cult classic Diva is back to thrill and dazzle audiences once again.

A young French mail carrier, Jules (Frederic Andrei), becomes entranced with the voice of American opera diva Cynthia Hawkins (Wilhelmenia Wiggins Fernandez). She ardently refuses to allow her voice to be recorded, but Jules smuggles a tape recorder into a concert to capture her performance.

His recording gets mixed up with another tape that incriminates a police chief, who is working with the mob. Jules quickly becomes the target of mob gangsters, and he must find a way to get himself out of the situation alive. Winner of four César Awards including Best First Film, Best Music, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound. 1981, France, 35mm, in French, Italian, Latin, and English with English subtitles, 125 minutes. Rated R.
