Flyover Film Festival at the Speed

Sunday, July 21-Thursday, July 25

The 11th annual Flyover Film Festival launches at the Speed Cinema with Kentucky premieres of five films that have ties to the Bluegrass, and all were helmed by female directors. This year’s program was not the result of a gender mandate, but instead a reflection of the quality of work submitted. As in years past, the Louisville Film Society board screened the submissions and curated the films with each member voting for their favorites. When the final tally came in, all of the top films were directed by women.

In addition to the regular Flyover Film Festival screenings, an Indie Directors Panel will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at 6 pm at the Speed Cinema.

Tickets to all screenings are $7 Louisville Film Society and Speed members, $9 general admission.

Tickets to the Indie Directors Panel are free for Louisville Film Society and Speed members and can be reserved in-advance, $5 for students and filmmakers, $9 general admission tickets. ($14 total for admission to the Panel and The Short History of The Long Road screening at 8 pm can be purchased HERE).

The Flyover Film Festival is co-presented by the Louisville Film Society and the Speed Cinema. Sponsors of the 2019 Flyover Film Festival include: 21c Museum Hotel, 180 Degrees, Frances Coppola Wines, lunacy unlimited, Rabbit Hole Distilling, Republic National Distributing Company, sonaBLAST, Tafel Flying, Aloft Hotels Louisville, and Tito’s Vodka.
