A young Jewish woman from Mexico City finds herself torn between her family and a forbidden love. Ariela, a muralist, is pressured to find an appropriate suitor. Serendipity leads to a courtship with Ivan, a non-Jewish writer who shows her a world beyond her sheltered life. Resulting in a journey of self-discovery, Ariela must weigh their relationship against rejection by her family and community.

 

Winner of Best Feature and Best Actress awards at the Morelia International Film Festival. 2018, Mexico, DCP, in Spanish with English subtitles, 95 minutes. Recommended for 16+ due to sexual content and nudity.
