FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What does the rental fee include?
A. The rental fee includes: Four hours of event time, table and chair setup and take down, security, housekeeping and a staff member from Special Events to attend event.

Q. Are tables and chairs included?
A. The Speed has 21 48-inch round tables, 10 gathering (waist high) tables and several 6-foot and 8-foot banquet tables. We also have 150 white padded chairs and 60 tan plastic Samsonite chairs. If more chairs or tables are needed, renting is an option. Bristol Catering can assist with any rentals.

Q. Do you provide table linens?
A. Linen rental may be arranged with Bristol Catering or you may provide your own.

Q. Can I choose my own caterer?
A. Bristol Catering is the exclusive caterer at the Speed Art Museum.

Q. Can I bring my own alcohol?
A. No, Bristol Catering provides the liquor and serves the alcohol for events.

Q. Can guests take food and beverages into the galleries?
A. Food and beverages are not permitted outside of the Sculpture Court and Main Foyer. Drop tables will be provided to indicate where the prohibited areas begin.

Q. Is smoking allowed in the Museum?
A. The Speed Art Museum is a smoke free facility.

Q. Can my event last longer than four hours?
A. Yes, however the Speed Art Museum must know in advance. The absolute latest time is two hours prior to event end time to receive approval. This must be discussed with the Special Events staff member and vendors so each is aware. For every additional hour over, a fee of $200 applies. As for other vendors such as DJ/Band, Bristol Catering for bar, you must contact them directly for information and fees incurred.

Q. Is coat check provided?
A. Coat check service can be provided through Bristol Catering; however a service fee will apply.

Q. Are candles allowed for my event?
A. Use of candles is greatly restricted at the Museum. Only votive candles are acceptable which may be used only on dining and buffet tables. Tapered, pillar, and other candles are not permitted in the Museum. Candles in flower arrangements are not permitted for an event in the Museum.
