The Speed Art Museum would not exist without its donors and volunteers.
The museum's legacy of philanthropy dates to its founding when
Mrs. Hattie Bishop Speed gave her art collection and the funds
to build the museum to honor her husband James Breckinridge Speed.
Today, the generosity of the Speed's donors and volunteers support
nearly every area of the museum's operations.
