Speed Camps

Registration is now open for 2017 Camps!

Week-long day camps offer a variety of fun, hands-on activities that encourage children and teens to be creative thinkers, bold art makers, and playful collaborators.

Registration information:
-To register for a camp, click the link below that camp’s description.
-Registration is first come, first served. Enrollment for each camp is limited to 10-15 participants, depending on the camp.
-Please note that all tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration.
-Camps are designed to meet the needs of specific age ranges and developmental abilities.
-Campers must meet age requirements for each camp. Children in the 5-7 age group must have already started school, or have turned 5 by January 1st, 2017.

Super Senses: Exploring Art, Ages 3-4
July 31-August 4, 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Our five senses help us explore and learn about our world! Each day of camp, we will make beautiful works of art inspired by the museum’s collection that engage our senses and stimulate cognitive development.

Artists and Authors, Ages 3-4
August 7-11, 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Explore literature and make art with your preschooler! With classic children’s books as inspiration, we will explore the galleries and make our own masterpieces each day. This camp will encourage your child’s language and motor skill development while you enjoy stories and activities together. Register!

Sculpture Extravaganza, Ages 5-7
June 19-23, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Shape, build, and transform everyday materials into sculptural masterpieces. Construct sculptures with everything from marshmallows and clay to rocks and paper mache. SOLD OUT!

Mixed Media Mania, Ages 5-7
June 26-30, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Cut, paste, stamp, and collage your way through a week of creative paper crafts. Campers will create mixed media works and explore a variety of artistic processes. SOLD OUT!

Around the World, Ages 5-7
July 10-14, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Make your way around the world as you explore art-making techniques from different cultures. Campers will discover different parts of the world through various media, including art, music, and storytelling, while creating artworks inspired by their travels. SOLD OUT!

Animals Tall and Small, Ages 5-7
July 24-28,

Discover the wonders of the animal kingdom! Campers will learn about animals tall and small, and create works of art from paintings to sculptures inspired by our furry, scaly, and slippery friends. SOLD OUT!

Art Explorers: Goin’ Green, Ages 8-10
June 12-16, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm 
Help the environment, learn about recycling, and discover how found objects can become art! Spend the week transforming ordinary objects into extraordinary art and getting creative with everyday items.

Pop Art + Op Art, Ages 8-10
June 19-23, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm  
Art explodes off the page in this camp filled with possibilities. Campers will explore the colorful world of Pop Art and dive into the wonders of Op Art, while learning to imagine, investigate, and create their own unique artworks. This camp will take art to a new level through printmaking, painting, and an exploration of mixed media and optical illusions.

Storybook Adventure, Ages 8-10
June 26-30, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Foster a love of literacy as you explore a wonderful land of books and illustrations, accompanied by your favorite stories and characters. Campers in our Storybook Adventure camp will make their own imaginative works of art inspired by spectacular stories and fables. SOLD OUT!

Dragons, Mermaids, + Other Mythical Creatures, Ages 8-10
July 10-14, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Enter the magical world of myth and create your own imaginary realm. Learn about mythical creatures and create your own amazing artworks inspired by fantastical stories, mythology, and folklore. SOLD OUT!

Art in Motion, Ages 8-10
July 17-21, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Discover that art doesn’t have to stand still! Explore the expressive possibilities of art that moves. Campers will bring art to life with abstract gestures, experiments of light and sound, and kinetic inventions. Learn about the work of contemporary artists while creating projects in a variety of media. Register!

Art and Activism, Ages 11-14
June 12-16, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Painter Wassily Kandinsky once said, “The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another purposively, to cause vibrations in the soul.” Explore how art can move people, address political issues, and incite social change within communities and around the world. Register!

Extended Care: For families who need child care beyond the hours of 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, we offer extended care as early as 8:00 am or as late as 5:00 pm on camp days. Please choose this option at registration, or see our FAQ for more information.
