Homeschool Workshop and Tour: Picking Up STEAM
Wednesday, May 9, 10:30 am-12:30 pm
Come to the Speed Art Museum for a STEAM workshop designed especially for homeschool students. Enjoy a STEAM-based gallery tour and learn about science, technology, engineering, and math connections in the Museum’s collection. Then build a drawing robot to put these concepts into practice.  Registration fee covers museum admission, tour, and art materials. Ages 10 to 16. A parent or guardian must also register for the workshop.

Youth Side-by-Side Workshop: Printmaking Possibilities
Friday, July 6, 10:30 am–12:30 pm
Explore the Speed’s exhibition, Picasso to Pollock, to learn about different types of printmaking and then try your hand at creating your own one-of-a-kind prints! Ages 6 to 12. A parent or guardian must also register for the workshop. Registration fee covers museum admission, tour, and art activity.
$5 members / $8 non-members

Visit the Prototype Lab and enjoy an open art making studio where the only limitation is your own creativity! A variety of materials will be provided for you to use to make your vision a reality. Free.

 

Art Sparks
Families will enjoy exploring Art Sparks, the Speed Art Museum’s interactive gallery for all ages. Fifteen hands-on learning stations help adults and children connect with works of art and with each other. We hope that by exploring and engaging with Art Sparks’ dynamic exhibits, visitors of all ages will see art in a whole new way. Art Sparks also includes Planet Preschool, a learning area dedicated to museum visitors aged two to five. More information about Art Sparks.

 

Free Owsley Sundays
Admission to the Museum is free every Sunday until March 2021, thanks to a generous contribution from Brown-Forman, making it easier to enjoy all the Speed has to offer. Come by for an entire afternoon or make a quick stop between other activities!
