For more
than 60 years, the Hattie Bishop Speed Endowed Concert Series
has presented some of the world’s finest classical
musicians from well-know performers to rising stars. This
series is presented by the Speed Art Museum and the Hattie Bishop
Speed Music Room Trust.
Pre-concert lectures are offered prior to each concert at 2
PM in Bird Hall at the University of Louisville School of Music.
All concerts are held at the University of Louisville School
of Music, Comstock Hall.
Membership is the ticket! No ticket is required if you are a
member of the Speed Art Museum. Show your membership card for
admission. Additional tickets may be purchased for $10 at the
door.

Louisville favorite, Olga Kerns returns. In 2001, at the Van Cliburn International
Piano Competition, this Russian pianist became the first woman to be awarded
a gold medal in over 30 years.

Nicola Benedetti was named BBC’s Young
Musician of the Year. She has enthralled audiences across the
Europe and the United States and has recently debuted with the
London Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, Tonhalle and Vienna Tonkunstler
Orchestras.
