Giddyup! The Wild West is back! Annie Oakley, the most famous woman in the world, stars in her own Wild West Show, Madcap-style! Hilarious characters, tall tales and spine-tingling stunts bring American history to life like never before! In this production, the only things taller than these tales are the giant puppets!

Art Sparks Family Studios
With a focus on engaging with the museum’s current exhibitions
and exploring art techniques, Family Art Sparks Studios bring art
alive through fun and unique activities. Typically offered the
second and fourth Saturday year round from 12 - 3 PM. Studio
is free with $5.00 admission to Art Sparks. Art Sparks Family
Studios are offered through the generous support of: Yum! Brands,
Norton Foundation, Louisville Metro Government, Community Foundation
of Louisville, Kentucky Arts Council, Gilbert Foundation, Target
and Members of The Speed Art Museum.

Wee One Wednesdays
WEDNESDAY, February 3, 10, 17, and 24-Wee-One Wednesdays
Take a creative journey with your preschooler during our Wee-One
Wednesday art class. Experiment with art making techniques,
explore the museum and experience art through imaginative play. Four
week art class is $25 for members and $35 for non-members and 10:30–11:30
AM. Program for 3-5 year olds and parent participation is
required.

THURSDAYS, February 4, 11, 18, and
25 – Journey into Art:
Homeschool Art Class
Discover the Elements of art while visiting the art of four cultures. Learn
techniques of art making while having fun. Experience history
through viewing the work of artists. This class is specially
designed for home schooled children ages 6-9 and their parents. Four
week art class is $50 for members and $75 for non-members. The
class will meet from 10:00-11:30am on Thursdays. Maximum
capacity: 15 students.
THURSDAYS, March 11, 18, 25 and April
1 – Journey into Art:

After School Art Studios
Join the fun and learn artistic techniques with the Speed Art Museum’s
After School Art Studios! Especially for children ages 8-12, these
studios offer kids the opportunity to interact with the museum
collection, meet and learn from local artists, and explore new
creative endeavors. Typically offered the second and fourth Friday
year round from 4:30 -6:30pm. Registration required.
Discovery Case in the Galleries
Touch, examine, and wonder at objects like those found in the collection.
Discovery Case guides will lead you on a hands-on journey through
a highlighted gallery. Discovery case activities are scheduled
the following dates: October 3 & 17, November 7 & 21, December
5 & 19.
Families First Gallery Guides
Take a self-guided tour of the museum with your family. Designed
for families with children, Five Easy Pieces are filled with information
about the museum’s collection. They contain facts, and activities
that help parents explore artworks in the museum. The guides are
available in the information racks around the museum or may be
picked up at the main desk at the entrance to the museum. The gallery
guides are free to visitors through the support of Salomon Smith-Barney
Investments.
