Portrait medallions like these were among the many offerings of Muldoon, Bullett, and Company. During the mid-1800s, Michael Muldoon and Charles Bullett operated a thriving Louisville business that imported, manufactured, and distributed a variety of stone works across America. They produced, tombstones and monuments for Cave Hill Cemetary, provided stone for building exteriors, and sold marble sculptures from Carrara, Italy.
