Join Zackary Drucker, multimedia artist and producer of the award-winning Amazon streaming series Transparent, in a conversation about the challenges, promise, and advances of transgender visibility in contemporary media.

Leading up to Transparent’s fourth season premier on October 22nd, the Speed Cinema and the Commonwealth Center for the Humanities and Society of the University of Louisville will screen an episode from previous season and host Drucker for commentary on this innovative series and the role of transgender artists on both sides of the camera.

Zackary Drucker is an independent artist, cultural producer, and trans woman who breaks down the way we think about gender, sexuality, and seeing. She has performed and exhibited her work internationally in museums, galleries, and film festivals including the Whitney Biennial 2014, MoMA PS1, Hammer Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, MCA San Diego, and SF MoMA, among others. Drucker is an Emmy-nominated Producer for the docu-series This Is Me.

This screening is presented by UofL’s Commonwealth Center for the Humanities & Society, and the Department of Comparative Humanities.
