THIS EVENT HAS PASSES

For years, The Rocky Horror Picture Show packed the 800-seat Vogue Theater complete with a stage show shadowing the film, the audience dancing the Time Warp, and everyone shouting hilarious responses back to the screen.

Starting with the Vogue’s original pre-show films, the shadow cast from Acting Against Cancer will lead the audience in the lively event following newlyweds Brad and Janet (Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon) as they become stranded and seduced by the beguiling Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry). 1975, U.S., video, 100 minutes. Rated R.

PLEASE NOTE: Props will be available for sale onsite, outside props for the screening will not be permitted. Guests are encouraged to dress up! Shirts and shoes are required and nudity is prohibited

Deep in Vogue: Louisville’s Treasured Cinema

October 12 – 28

For over 20 years, the Vogue Theater was Louisville’s celebrated arthouse cinema with a plethora of screenings of classic Hollywood fare, foreign films, wild cult films, children’s matinees, American independent releases, and the ever-popular The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The cinema in St. Matthews packed houses and gave an informal film education to the region.

This fall marks the 20th anniversary since its closing and this series celebrates beloved films that played at the Vogue. In addition, there will be a display of ephemera from the Vogue preserved by former Vogue staff members and local cinema archivist David Conover.
