Free. First come, first served.

Renowned for his meticulously crafted surrealist films, Jacques Drouin’s pinscreen animations are swirling visions which defy reality yet remain potently lifelike. In his second feature, Mindscape, an artist steps through his canvas into a landscape governed by symbolism and artistry (1976, Canada, video, 7 minutes).

In A Hunting Lesson, Drouin transforms a children’s book by Jacques Godbout into a visually stunning meditation on respect for nature and life. When the young Antoine asks his shadowy neighbor to teach him to hunt, he comes to discover a new perspective on life he had not held before (2001, Canada, video, 13 minutes). Recommended for 8+.
