“Nothing less than astounding in its beauty and boldness.”—New York Times

More a visual poem than a straightforward documentary, Japanese director Hiroshi Teshigahara (Woman in the Dunes) creates an audacious take on the buildings, interiors and parks designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926). One highlight is the massive, still-unfinished masterpiece—the Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona. The director’s passion for Gaudi’s work comes through in every frame, as the bold and sensual tracing shots capture the curves of the cathedral’s organic structure. 1984, Japan, 35mm, no dialogue, 72 minutes. Recommended for all ages.
